Complementary treatments, customized for your body and your complaints
To support shiatsu and acupuncture, we offer complementary treatments depending on your specific complaints and your body.
Moxa therapy
Moxa is an ancient technique which is used to treat, for instance, tiredness, scar tissue, or a baby in breech position. The general effect is warming and energizing.
The herb Artemisia (Chinese mugwort), pressed into a cigar-like stick, is lit and held above the skin to warm a specific acupuncture point. You can learn how to do it yourself in one of our workshops at Ki-Do Center.

“When my daughter was still lying in breech position, I learnt how to use moxa. At the next checkup they found her lying in the correct position, so she is born in natural way.” Karin
Cupping
Cupping means we put glass balls on the skin, creating vacuum under the balls. This resolves stagnations and pain on the skin as well as in the underlying tissue. It’s possible that after cupping the skin will colour deep red, locally. These red spots disappear after a few days. You will notice that as the red spots disappear, the symptoms will diminish too.

“After cupping my strained shoulders feel free again.” Nettie
Dietary advice
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, one assumes that the food has an energetic effect on the digestive system and human health in general. Each person has a unique digestive system. The balance in the body is influenced by taking or avoiding certain food or drinks. Therefore, a dietary advice can be a part of our treatment. Based on nature-oriented medicine, orthomolecular therapy offers an EMB test that provides insight into your nutritional deficiencies and energy problems.
